Abstract

Soil particle size analysis is a crucial test used to classify soils and predict their behavior. This review paper aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the method for analyzing soil particles, including its principles, concepts, particle distribution, and the relationships between them. It also discusses the importance of accuracy, precision, and the use of reference materials in soil particle size analysis. The test of soil particle size analysis involves determining the relative proportion by weight of different soil particles in a soil sample. This information is essential for soil classification, as it helps to identify the composition and characteristics of the soil. By understanding the particle size distribution, scientists and engineers can better predict the behavior of soils in various applications, such as agriculture, geotechnical engineering, and environmental sciences.
